STAFF BIOS

Tom Ferentz – Artistic Director, MFA, UCSD, founded the Workshop in 1991. He has received six California Arts Council Artists in Residence awards for his work with SSPW and a Eureka Fellowship in Photography from the Fleishhaker Foundation. He has taught photography at California State University East Bay and University of San Francisco and has exhibited his work internationally.

S. Renée Jones has been a member of the Sixth Street Photography Workshop since 1995. She joined the project during a time when she was on the edge of homelessness. She is a self-taught photographer who also studied art therapy at San Francisco State University. She teaches the beginning photography class as well as instructs in advanced photography, studio lighting, portraiture and gallery show preparation.
